Before Entering Wells Gray Provincial Park
Fuel up in Clearwater before entering the park, as fuel stations are not available farther north. Cell service becomes increasingly limited beyond Clearwater, so downloading offline maps before you leave is strongly recommended.
If you're staying at Wells Gray Guest Ranch, breakfast and dinner are available at the Black Horse Saloon, and horseback rides can be booked directly through the ranch. Advance reservations for horseback riding are recommended during peak season.

Important Travel Tips
Fill Up in Clearwater
Clearwater is the last community with fuel stations before entering Wells Gray Provincial Park. Do not skip this stop.
Limited Cell Service
Cell coverage becomes increasingly limited beyond Clearwater. Download offline maps (Google Maps or Maps.me) before travelling into the park.
Book Activities Early
Horseback rides and seasonal activities often fill up during summer months. Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Check Mountain Visibility
Planning to visit Green Mountain Tower? If mountain peaks are hidden by clouds from the valley, visibility from the tower will likely be limited as well.
Wildlife on the Roads
Wildlife is commonly seen throughout the area, especially at dawn and dusk. Drive carefully, reduce speed, and keep your camera ready.
Ranch Dining Available
Enjoy breakfast and dinner at the Black Horse Saloon without needing to leave the park. Reservations are recommended during peak season.
